UCLA Health NICU Reunion

Party for the preemies! And the parents, and the relatives, and the caregivers too! Days aren’t much better than this!

I just attended the biennial UCLA Health NICU reunion, and what a celebration it was! Packed with 450 former patients (aged 3 months to 31 years old) and a total crowd of 1,300 guests, there was no shortage of smiles and laughter! From great food (the chocolate fountain was awesome!) to balloon animals, a bouncy house and a petting zoo, today was a day to celebrate!

This NICU reunion has been held biennially for 40+ years, and the primary purpose is to allow former patients and families to come together, share their stories of challenge and success, and most importantly to express their gratitude to all the health care providers that work so hard every day. I literally can’t imagine my life without them.

A big thank you to UCLA Health, and I look forward to returning to this NICU reunion for many years to come!
