Team Preemie Packets

My parents liked to call my NICU isolette my “dorm room,” and they made it feel as comfortable and homelike as possible by personalizing it with items just for me.

I believe that when preemies are in the NICU, it’s a critical time for them and their parents to bond together. To help achieve that, I created Team Preemie Packets, which I assemble and deliver to NICUs both locally and nationally. The items included are:

• Black & White Picture Cards
  Self-drawn pictures to help preemie brain stimulation

• Lovey Blanket
  Share between mother and preemie for scent recognition

• Teddy Bear
  Every preemie deserves a stuffed animal friend

• License Plate
  Write preemie’s name so NICU neighbors get to know each other

• Picture Frame
  Add a family photo so that everyone can always be together
